The Laurel Creek Trail offers hiking at its best, and enjoy a round of golf at Oneida Golf & Country Club. This lake is so wonderful. Why not take a refreshing hike along the Racoon Loop, and Laxton Lake Dam is not far at all from Laxton Lake. If you want a great time in the great outdoors just come on up to the Cumberland Plateau Mountains. Take a hike on the Deer       Loop, and Laxton Lake is a wonderful spot to visit for more than one day, Charit Creek Campground is a wonderful spot to camp nearby. Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always have a look at nearby Brown Pond. After a long day outdoors Best Western South Fork Inn is a great spot to spend a night or two. Lakes are great; Laxion Lake is a lake that's next to Laxton Lake. There's whitewater on New River for all you adrenaline rush seekers,                  and as expected Brown Branch flows through this neighborhood. These mountains rock, just explore all the cool things to do in the Cumberland Plateau Mountains. Bandy Creek Campground is a brilliant local campground; get your heart beating on the good whitewater of Roaring Paunch River. All the water falling down from the sky makes Laxton Lake a wet place; the wettest month of the year is commonly March, that's the one that rains the most while October is the month with the least amount of precipitation. All through the summer highs here at Laxton Lake reach the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures plunge down into the 60's. The winter brings highs down to the 40's, and after the sun is down during the wintertime temperatures at Laxton Lake descend into the 20's. Whohoo, so much cool stuff in one place! Laxton Lake is peerless! Big South Fork National River & Recreation Area is a great local destination here at Laxton Lake, and dry warm beds await you at Comfort Inn Pioneer.
