This lake is so wonderful. Brown Branch is a striking stream that is worth stopping at, and there is a delightful hiking trail close by called the Deer Loop. Laxion Lake is located in the Cumberland Plateau Mountains. Whohoo, so much exciting stuff in one place! The Cumberland Plateau Mountains rocks! There are other places here than Laxion Lake, for example Laxion Lake, and popping by       Big South Fork National River & Recreation Area is just something you need to do if you haven't yet. Summer brings highs in the 80's to Laxion Lake. All through the dark hours of summer temperatures plunge down into the 60's. All through the winter highs are in the 40's; night lows during the wintertime for Laxion Lake tend to be in the 20's. If only every spot had this much outdoors entertaining stuff, what a great world it would be. If the weather is                  good here at Laxion Lake, you can go for a hike along the Laurel Creek Trail, and there's whitewater on New River for all you adrenaline junkies. After a long day outdoors Comfort Inn Pioneer is a brilliant location to spend a night or two. Oneida Golf & Country Club is a great golf course nearby; Laxton Lake Dam is a delightful spot. Laxion Lake mostly gets much rain; March is the month that gets the most rain while October is generally the driest month. This lake is so wonderful. On a great day at Laxion Lake you can take a hike along the Racoon Loop, and camping is available at Charit Creek Campground. You can run the rapids of Roaring Paunch River next to Laxion Lake, and Best Western South Fork Inn is a great site to get some rest. You just can't envision the amount of outdoors exciting things the Cumberland Plateau Mountains has to offer.
