What a nice lake Lambert Lake is. Abrams Creek has a perfect whitewater paddling spot close by, and as expected Big Spring Branch flows through this vicinity. All the water falling down from the sky makes Lambert Lake a wet place; March is when you get the most rain here, and October on the other hand is the driest. Do pop by Lambert Dam since you're here at Lambert Lake, and Jameson Inn Alcoa is a magnificent place to get some rest.
At Lambert Lake you

can spot Black Sulphur Knobs; paddling on Little River is so much fun. But wait, there's more to do next to Lambert Lake. There's so much to do here at Lambert Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Carpenter Campground is a delightful place for that, and don't leave Lambert Lake without first paying a visit to Montvale Springs. An afternoon playing golf at Royal Oaks Golf Community & Country Club is always a diversion; nearby you find the Little Bottoms
Trail which is a good hiking trail.
This lake is so wonderful. While staying at Lambert Lake you could always discover Murray Gap, and if you get bored of Lambert Lake you could also pop by close by Lanier Lake. Going for a hike on the Hannah Mountain Trail is always a magnificent adventure, and a lake nearby is Sandy Stand Lake. During the warm months here at Lambert Lake, high temperatures ordinarily get into the 80's, and the nighttime is a little colder of course, generally in the 60's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 40's with temperatures at Lambert Lake dipping down into the 20's through winter nights.

MORE STUFF NEARBY:

Abrams Creek
It is extremely difficult and the rocks are large, harsh, and plentiful.  There is a 15 foot waterfall 2.5 miles in and nothing around for help. Zero cellular service!! The locals say this is normally an impassable river. The only reason we were able to do some of this river is that it was two feet higher than average.  Lots of downed trees that were difficult to portage. Be conscious of the wildlife threats (bears). I highly reccommend going elsewhere to this river....

Hannah Mountain Trail
I can not wait to see the mountain. My family lived there in the mid 1800's and I want to see the area for myself....

We just returned from Indian Boundary Lake. This is a fantastic family destination! Everyone had a great time and the trail is wonderful and accessible to all age groups. Highly recommend this one!...
I love this campground. Sometimes we are the only dogs on the lake!...

Cable Cove Campground
18 miles away
Great campground. Not too big (20 sites?), rarely full. Large tent pads, fire rings with grill tops, a separate charcoal grill, picnic tables, and sometimes 2 lantern posts are set on spacious lots set far off the road with most parking areas big enough to accomidate large RV's. Access to campground and boat ramp is paved the whole way. Water and a primative flush toilet provided. Camping close to the entrance may include noises from the pumphouse at night. Only a quarter mile from boat ramp on one of the most beautiful sections of Lake Fontana. Great canoe-camping. The interpretive trail is probably a little over a mile long. Extensive hiking, mountain biking, and kayaking close by. Closest store is at Fontana Village, about 8 mi. away, and if they're closed, I think that the closest beer is some 30 mi. away in Bryson City. Be farwarned. PLEASE BE COURTIOUS TO OTHERS AND LEAVE BARKING DOGS AT HOME!...

Ober Gatlinburg

I went there 2 days ago. It was so fun....
Ober Gatlinburg doesn't have a lot of different runs to choose from but it's pretty ok based on the area....
