La Follette Reservoir is a beautiful lake in the Cumberland Plateau Mountains. Whohoo, so much entertaining stuff in one place! La Follette Reservoir is excellent! Going for a hike on the River Bluff Trail is always a pleasant adventure; Shanghai Resort is a wonderful local campground. During your visit to La Follette Reservoir you'll meet some people from La Follette for sure; Big Creek Gap is a good location       to spend some time. Yep, outdoors cool stuff truly is plentiful here in the Cumberland Plateau Mountains. If you came for an overnight stay Powell Valley Resort is a great location to camp, and after a long day outdoors Comfort Inn Pioneer is a tremendous spot to spend a night or two. There are wonderful sites to look at along the Deer Trail, and if you need a site to stay Super 8 Motel - Caryville is a good choice. La Follette Reservoir sees pretty high                  levels of precipitation; throughout the month of July you get the most rain around here, and the driest month of the year is October. If you want a wonderful time in the great outdoors just come on up to the Cumberland Plateau Mountains. If you come at the right time of year, Cumberland River - Clear Fork offers some glorious whitewater. This lake is so wonderful. Very nice water scenery is available at Eblen-Powell Number One Dam right next door to La Follette Reservoir; Bear Wallow Branch is right next door to La Follette Reservoir and is always a joy to explore. For the period of the summer months, highs regularly are in the 80's at La Follette Reservoir. Summer nighttime lows drop down to the 60's.
