There is a great hiking trail near La Follette Reservoir called the River Bluff Trail; camping is available at Powell Valley Resort. This lake is so wonderful. A short journey to Eagle Bluff Springs is always worthwhile; you can run the rapids of Cumberland River - Clear Fork. La Follette       Reservoir is a pretty wet place commonly with much rainfall; the month with most of the rain is July while October is frequently the driest month. If you want a good time in the great outdoors just come on up to the Cumberland Plateau Mountains. Some of the water close by flows, like Bear Wallow Branch, and since you're here, you might as well take a look at Grandma Hollow. A great place to camp here at La Follette Reservoir is Shanghai Resort; Super 8                  Motel - Caryville is a good site to get some rest. This lake is so wonderful. Here at La Follette Reservoir you can catch a glimpse of Eagle Bluff; if you need a spot to stay Budget Host Inn is a wonderful choice. Summertime brings highs in the 80's to La Follette Reservoir. For the duration of the dark hours of summer temperatures sink down into the 60's. Daytime highs during the wintertime are in the 40's while the cold winter nights at La Follette Reservoir are in the 20's. Be careful coming to La Follette Reservoir, you might not ever want to return back home again.
