The high level of precipitation makes Kirkstone Lake a rather wet place; March is the wettest month with most rain, and the driest month of the year is October. Through the summer, highs generally are in the 80's at Kirkstone Lake while night lows are mostly in the 60's. During the winter this place gets highs in the 40's, and after the sun is down all through the wintertime temperatures       at Kirkstone Lake plunge into the 20's. This lake is so wonderful. A lake nearby is Lake Sherwood. Now, you may assume that's lots but there's even more entertaining things to do here in the Cumberland Plateau Mountains. Camp Branch flows through this neighborhood; you'll meet a lot of folks from Crossville here. Obed Wild & Scenic River is a wonderful national park; a magnificent nearby hotel is Fairfield Glade Resort. The Cumberland Plateau Mountains                  scenery is always beautiful. This lake is so wonderful. Playing golf is lots of fun at Stonehenge Golf Club, and Bean Pot Holiday Trav-l-park is a glorious local campground. Why not take a refreshing hike along the Fooshee Pass Trail, and after a long day outdoors Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Crossville Tn is a nice spot to spend a night or two. You just can't picture the amount of outdoors amusing things the area in close proximity to Kirkstone Lake has to offer. Whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then we recommend Daddy's Creek, and you don’t have to go far from Kirkstone Lake to spot the water at Kirkstone Lake Dam. And if that's not enough there's a heap more fun stuff to do in the Cumberland Plateau Mountains.
