Kirkstone Lake Dam is worth a visit while you're here, and at Kirkstone Lake you always meet someone from Crossville. So much exciting stuff to do in the Cumberland Plateau Mountains, not enough time. Near Kirkstone Lake you stumble on the Fooshee Pass Trail which is a good hiking trail, and if you need a place to stay Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites CROSSVILLE is a great choice. All the water falling down from the sky makes Kirkstone       Lake a wet location; the wettest month of the year is usually March, that's the one that rains the most, and the driest month of the year is October. That right there is a load already, but it goes on; Kirkstone Lake has it all. Playing golf is lots of fun at Stonehenge Golf Club, and Kirkstone Lake is a tremendous place to visit for more than one day, Deer Run RV Resort is a tremendous place to camp nearby. Stay the night at Bean Pot Holiday Trav-l-park;                  not far from Kirkstone Lake you'll hit upon Lake Sherwood which is a lovely lake. Kirkstone Lake is located in the Cumberland Plateau Mountains. There are other places here than Kirkstone Lake, for example Lake Malvern, and some of the water close by flows, like Camp Branch. This place, the Cumberland Plateau Mountains, has so much outdoors entertaining stuff. Glide down the rapids of Daddy's Creek in a kayak, and after a long day outdoors Fairfield Glade Resort is a great place to spend a night or two. Through the days of summer highs here at Kirkstone Lake reach the 80's. For the period of the dark hours of summer temperatures descend down into the 60's. For the duration of the wintertime the highs are typically in the 40's with temperatures at Kirkstone Lake dipping down into the 20's through winter nights. This lake is so wonderful.
