The Cumberland Plateau Mountains scenery is always beautiful. The high level of rain makes Hiawawtha Lake a rather wet place; through March this area sees the most rain while October is regularly the driest month. Be careful coming to the Cumberland Plateau Mountains, you might not ever want to go home again. Near Hiawawtha Lake you stumble on the Laurel-Snow Trail which is a good hiking trail. If you're a       golfer then a tremendous close by course is Bear Trace Golf Course, and don't forget to take a magnificent little visit to Cottrell Branch. And that's not all you can do here at Hiawawtha Lake. If you came for an overnight stay Crossville Koa Kampground is a pleasant spot to camp, and after a long day outdoors Village Inn Motel is a nice place to spend a night or two. This lake is so wonderful. A great nearby hotel is Budget Inn, and Byrd Creek Dam has splendid water                  scenery. Yeah, come up here to the Cumberland Plateau Mountains for a magnificent time. Soar down the rapids of Daddy's Creek in a kayak, and lots of people from Crossville come here. Byrd Creek Lake is a nearby lake that you could pop by, and camping at Hiawawtha Lake is magnificent fun, Tennessee Cumberland Campgrnd is a magnificent local campground. The warmest time of the year brings highs in the 80's to Hiawawtha Lake, and through the night it cools down to the 60's.
