After a long day outdoors Comfort Inn & Suites is a good site to spend a night or two, and camping is available at Cherokee Lake Campground And Cabins. This lake is so wonderful. Put some time aside to spend at Shanks Ripple while you're here at Heck Pond, and camping at Cherokee Lake Camp Grounds is always a good experience. If you're here at Heck Pond, checking out Taylor Bluff       is a must, and there's some flowing water close by, Dry Branch is a stream you can stop by during your stay. Heck Pond is a reasonably wet place typically with a large amount of rain; May is when you get the most rain here; October meanwhile is the driest month. High temperatures at Heck Pond all through the warmest time of the year are in the 80's. For the period of the dark hours of summer temperatures dip down into the 60's. High temperatures throughout the                  winter are normally in the 40's with winter lows in the 20's overnight here at Heck Pond. There's just no way anybody can get bored here at Heck Pond. Don't leave Heck Pond without first going for a hike along the Trail of the Lonesome Pine, and there are great sites to look at along the Bunches Trace.
