Lakes are brilliant; Deerhead Lake is a lake that's near Glen Barker Lake; there's whitewater on Woodcock Creek for all you adrenaline junkies. You'll need more than a day to explore everything Glen Barker Lake has to offer, you can camp at Raccoon Mountain Campground, and you can run the rapids  
   of Coal Bank. Now, you may assume that's a lot but there's even more entertaining stuff to do here in the Cumberland Plateau Mountains. Dry warm beds await you at Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites CHATTANOOGA-HIXSON, and since you're here, you could go to Bryant Branch.

Don't leave Glen Barker Lake without first going for a hike along the Lookout Creek Trail, and hiking is a popular thing to do around Glen Barker Lake; Hardy Trail is a good local trail. This lake is so wonderful. Do go to Glen Barker Dam while you're here at Glen Barker Lake, and magnificent hiking is available along the Skyuka Trail. This lake is so wonderful. This is a great region for people who like lakes. Ernest Taylor Lake is a lake in close proximity, and after a long day outdoors HomeAway Extended Stay Studios is a delightful spot to spend a night or two.
Summertime highs at Glen Barker Lake regularly tend to be in the 80's. All through the moonlight hours it's generally in the 60's. For the duration of the winter highs are in the 40's while Glen Barker Lake nighttime low temperatures through the winter are in the 20's. And if that's not enough there's lots more entertaining things to do in the Cumberland Plateau Mountains. Glen Barker Lake is a tremendous site to visit for more than one day, Racoon Mountain Campground is a tremendous site to camp nearby; Barker Cove is another good place to check out nearby. Lots of rainfall falls at Glen Barker Lake; of all the months in a year March is the one with the most rain; the driest month is October.
