Beautiful Fox Pond has much to offer visitors. There's so much to do here at Fox Pond that you need to camp here for a while, Sleepy Hollar Campground is a splendid spot for that, and Ober Gatlinburg is a pleasant local ski area. If the weather is lovely, you acquire a nice view of Garner Top from Fox Pond, and if you come at the right time of year, Cove Creek offers some fine whitewater. So much amusing stuff to do at Fox Pond, so little time. A short spree
to Rocky Springs is always worthwhile; you can have a great hiking adventure along the Meigs Mountain Trail.
Throughout the summer months highs here at Fox Pond reach the 80's. For the duration of the dark hours of summer temperatures dip down into the 60's. The winter comes with highs in the 40's, and nighttime lows at Fox Pond through the winter frequently fall into the 20's. This lake is so wonderful. Here at Fox Pond there are plenty of folks from Sevierville,

and a golf course nearby is River Islands Golf Club. The high level of rainfall makes Fox Pond a rather wet location; the month with most of the rain is March, and October is the month with the least moisture.
If you need a place to stay Comfort Suites Kodak is a great choice, and Fox Pond is glorious enough to spend more than a day at, Riverside Campground is a glorious local campground. Nearby lakes? Sure, Tinsley Pond is near Fox Pond; hiking along the Laurel Falls Trail is great fun. Just can't get enough of Fox Pond. Near Fox Pond you stumble on great places like Union Valley, and whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then, we recommend Little River.
Visit Temple Branch since you're here at Fox Pond. This lake is so wonderful. You're almost certainly keen on lakes, Callans Pond is one of those close by; the views at Great Smoky Mountains National Park will blow your mind. Days Inn Severville Kodak is a great place to get some rest, and Fox Pond is right by the Cove Mountain Trail.

Little River
13 miles away
Correction:
The run described here is actually from the Elbow to the Y. It is incorrectly labeled Elbow to Townsend.

There is another run from the Y to Townsend, but there is a low level Dam about 2 miles from the Y that has to be portaged. This run is about 4 miles. It has Class 2+ rapids at the start and gradually gets easier till it is Class 1 as the trip approaches Townsend....
This is a very scenic run.  The Little River run through The Smoky Mountain National Park along Little River Road. The put-in is 2.6 miles from the Y driving towards the Sinks.  You should go with a group of experience paddlers that have run this section before.  There is a rapid called Mary's Rock that is Class 2+ rapid with a deadly undercut rock that has nearly trapped unaware paddlers under water.  This rapid should be portage by most paddlers.  Advanced paddlers should not have any difficulties making the S-turn that is required to successfully run this rapid. There are probably 8-10 Class 2 rapids to go along with the 5-6 rapids that are Class 2+ or 3.  This run is is runnable in the wet season (Fall to Winter).  You need a minimum 600 cfs on the Little River Maryville gauge....
