Kile Lake is a splendid lake near Fillauer Lake, and Fillauer Lake is pleasant enough to spend more than a day at, Chilhowee Rec Area - Cherokee National Forest is a pleasant local campground. Fillauer Lake ordinarily gets a large amount of rainfall; during the month of March you get the most rain around here, and the driest month is October. There is a great hiking trail near Fillauer Lake called the Chilhowee Forest Walk       Trail, and for you golfers we recommend close by Rolling Hills Golf Club. There's so much to do here at Fillauer Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Chattanooga North KOA is a fine place for that, and going for a hike on the Conasauga River Trail is always a magnificent adventure. This lake is so wonderful. Take a side trip to Fillauer Branch, and get drenched paddling on Conasauga River. Whohoo, so many fun things in one place! Fillauer Lake is                  peerless!
