Ernest Taylor Lake is a great lake in an area with lots of outdoors fun all around. The Cumberland Plateau Mountains scenery is always beautiful. Through the months of summer highs here at Ernest Taylor Lake get into the 80's. Once the sun is down it dips down to the 60's. Throughout the winter the highs are commonly in the 40's, and during the dark hours in the wintertime at Ernest Taylor Lake temperatures fall to the 20's. Dry warm beds await you at HomeAway

If time allows, Russell Cave National Monument is a national park worth taking a look at. This lake is so wonderful. Lookout Creek Trail is a glorious hiking trail near Ernest Taylor Lake, and you're probably addicted to lakes, Ketner Cove Lake is one of those close by. But wait, there's more amusing stuff to do in the Cumberland Plateau Mountains.
There is a great hiking trail near Ernest Taylor Lake called the Skyuka Trail. You'll need more than a day to discover everything Ernest Taylor Lake has to offer, you can camp at Lookout Valley RV Park. This lake is so wonderful.
North Chickamauga Creek has a fine whitewater paddling spot nearby; close by you discover the Hardy Trail which is a great hiking trail. The high level of precipitation makes Ernest Taylor Lake a reasonably wet site; the month with
most of the rain is March; the driest month is June. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy the Cumberland Plateau Mountains. There's always Ernest Taylor Dam to check out next to Ernest Taylor Lake, and Ernest Taylor Lake is a place
with many visitors from Chattanooga. Just can't get enough of Ernest Taylor Lake. Paddling on South Suck Creek is so much fun, and you could always discover Anderson Gap.
