What a nice lake Eblen-Powell Number One Reservoir is. This lake is so wonderful. A brilliant close by hotel is Comfort Inn Pioneer. For the duration of the summer highs here at Eblen-Powell Number One Reservoir reach the 80's. Once the sun is down it plunges down to the 60's. For the duration of the wintertime the highs are regularly in the 40's while Eblen-Powell Number One Reservoir overnight low temperatures through the winter are in the 20's. A good deal

| | of rainfall falls at Eblen-Powell Number One Reservoir; July is the month that gets the most rain; the driest month is October. This lake is so wonderful. Getting to Bear Wallow Branch from Eblen-Powell Number One Reservoir is trouble-free, and if you're visiting from La Follette, you won't be the only one. And if that's not enough there's plenty more enjoyable stuff to do in the Cumberland Plateau Mountains. Big Creek Gap is a great place to go to close | |

by is La Follette Reservoir. Eblen-Powell Number One Reservoir is not the only spot close by, La Follette Reservoir is a close by lake; Eblen-Powell Number One Reservoir is great enough to spend more than a day at, Shanghai Resort
is a great local campground. This lake is one of the great places here in the Cumberland Plateau Mountains. Get yourself into a kayak and hit Cumberland River - Clear Fork, and Eblen-Powell Number One Dam is an exciting thing to check
out. Just can't get enough of the Cumberland Plateau Mountains. Good hiking is available along the River Bluff Trail. There's so much to do here at Eblen-Powell Number One Reservoir that you need to camp here for a while, Powell Valley Resort is a nice location for that.

People who've hiked the trail along the Clinch River just downstream of Norris Dam could tell you about how good this place is for spring wildflowers. 3. 2 miles of trail with a nice blend of flat easy walking along the river coupled with a bit of climbing and a ridgeline hike back to the car makes for a good workout--but one you'll hardly notice due to the grand views of flowers and scenery.
Don't give up when you first start this trail because you'll see only a few flowers along the first 1/2 mile. Beyond that, you'll think you've entered some kind of wildflower garden. Honest--the displays are that good.
