Downing Creek Reservoir is a beautiful lake in the Cumberland Plateau Mountains. This lake is so wonderful. Best Western Leisure Inn is a great location to get some rest, and if you come at the right time of year, Obed River offers some pleasant whitewater. Throughout the long summer days, highs regularly are in the 80's at Downing Creek Reservoir. Through the moonlight hours it's       usually in the 60's. For the duration of the winter highs are in the 40's, and winter nights come with lows in the 20's to Downing Creek Reservoir. This lake is so wonderful. Do visit Downing Creek Dam if you're here at Downing Creek Reservoir; not far from Downing Creek Reservoir you'll hit upon Shady Lake which is a beautiful lake. So many exciting things to do here in the Cumberland Plateau Mountains, too nice to be true. After a long day outdoors Ramada                  Inn is a nice site to spend a night or two; since you're here you can play some golf at River Run Golf Club. Be careful coming to Downing Creek Reservoir, you might not ever want to return back home again. Lakes? Sure, Cumberland Mountain Lake is around here, and if you're popping by from Crossville, you won't be the only one. Downing Creek Reservoir sees pretty high levels of rain; during March this area sees the most rain, and October on the other hand is the driest. Crossville Holiday Trav-l-Park is a nice campground nearby, and there are some glorious whitewater spots on Daddy's Creek. All year is a tremendous time in the Cumberland Plateau Mountains if you like the outdoors.
