Dorton Lake Dam is striking and it's near Dorton Lake, and don't leave Dorton Lake without first going for a hike along the Laurel-Snow       Trail. Dorton Lake is a glorious location to visit for more than one day, Ballyhoo Family Campground is a glorious location to camp nearby; since you're here you will meet lots of folks from close by Crossville. This lake is so wonderful. Flatrock Branch flows through this region. So many enjoyable things to do at Dorton Lake, so little time. Stay the night at Crossville Koa Kampground, and if you don’t have a problem getting covered with water, you can always go whitewater paddling on Daddy's Creek. Through the warm days of summer at Dorton Lake temperatures are regularly in the 80's. Summer overnight lows fall down to the 60's. Highs during the winter are commonly in the 40's with winter lows in the 20's overnight here at Dorton Lake.
