Doakes Pond is a nice lake to visit. This lake is so wonderful. There's whitewater on Cumberland River - Clear Fork for all you adrenaline kick people, and you'll meet a lot of folks from La Follette here. Doakes Pond is right by the Deer Trail, and Doakes Pond is splendid enough to spend more than a day at, Paradise Cove RV Park is a splendid local campground. You just can't picture the amount of outdoors amusing stuff the Cumberland Plateau Mountains has

| | to offer. If you need a place to stay Jellico-Days Inn North Tennessee State Line is a pleasant choice, and not far from Doakes Pond you obtain some glorious water scenery at Doakes Creek Dam.

The high level of rain makes Doakes Pond a quite wet spot; March
is when you get the most rain here; the driest month of the year is October. This lake is one of the great places here in the Cumberland Plateau Mountains. You imagine that's sufficient? Just getting warmed up. Take a little journey to Doakes Creek while you're here at Doakes Pond; hiking along the River Bluff Trail is magnificent fun.
