Not far from Day Lake you hit upon Kirby Smith Point, and Big Fiery Gizzard Creek is a delightful whitewater spot nearby. During the long summer days highs here at Day Lake get into the 80's, and all through the night it cools down to the 60's. Daytime highs all through the wintertime are in the 40's while the cold winter nights at Day Lake are in the 20's. Day Lake sees pretty high levels of rain; most of the rain falls during       March; August is when it's the driest. Going for a hike on the Winding Stairs is always a good adventure; if you need a location to stay Best Western Smokehouse Lodge is a fine choice. Go for a hike on the River Mont Cave Historical Trail, and a wonderful location for whitewater paddling is Little Fiery Gizzard Creek. And if you're still looking for more outdoors cool stuff just keep reading. Stay the night at Laurel Trails Campground, and it's a glorious idea                  to stop by Falls Branch. This lake is so wonderful. If you haven’t been to Russell Cave National Monument, you must schedule some time for it if you're here, and the good folks of Tullahoma like to hang out nearby. Lakes? Sure, Mont Milner Lake is nearby. This lake is so wonderful. Day Lake Dam is striking and it's near Day Lake; a good nearby hotel is Monteagle-Days Inn.
