Crawley Pond sees pretty high levels of rainfall; the wettest month of the year is commonly May, that's the one that rains the most while October is mostly the driest month. While staying at Crawley Pond you could always look at Goose Hollow, and going for a hike on the Lower Whiterock Trail is always a nice adventure. This lake is so wonderful. Go for a hike on the Messer Trail, and get yourself into a kayak and hit       Pigeon River. Looking for some flowing water? Try Allen Branch, and get wet paddling on French Broad. And if that's not enough, there's a lot more to do near Crawley Pond. Near Crawley Pond you come across the Stone Mountain Trail which is a great hiking trail, and if you need a place to stay Holiday Inn Newport,Tn is a wonderful choice. During the warm days of summer here at Crawley Pond, high temperatures generally reach the 80's. For the period of the dark                  hours of summer temperatures descend down into the 60's. The winter comes with highs in the 40's while Crawley Pond overnight low temperatures through the winter are in the 20's. Crawley Pond is a tremendous place to visit for more than one day, Tuller Mountain Creek Campground is a tremendous place to camp nearby; Crawley Pond is not the only location close by, Scott Pond is a close by lake. This lake is so wonderful. A round of golf at nearby Smoky MTN Country Club & Grill is a delightful way to kill some time, and if you've had enough of Crawley Pond, Scruggs Pond is close by. Mountain Crest Inn is a nice site to get some rest; folks from Newport love to come here. Burnett Spring is a pleasant local attraction, and you can stay the night at Yogi Bear's Jellystone Camp.
