Go to Crawley Pond if you want to go to a nice lake. During your visit to Crawley Pond you'll meet some people from Newport for sure; after a long day outdoors Holiday Inn Newport,Tn is a pleasant place to spend a night or two. Allen Branch is right next door to Crawley Pond and is always a diversion to stop by, and Crawley Pond is nice enough to spend more than a day at, Tuller Mountain Creek Campground is a nice local campground. Be careful coming to Crawley Pond, you might not ever want to go back home again. A tremendous spot to camp here at Crawley Pond is Yogi Bear's Jellystone Camp, and if you don't mind getting drenched, you can always go whitewater paddling on Pigeon River. rain, and October meanwhile is the driest month. All through the summertime months highs here at Crawley Pond reach the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures dip down into the 60's. Through the winter this place gets highs in
the 40's; night lows in the 20's for Crawley Pond.
This lake is so wonderful. The Lower Whiterock Trail is a pleasant hiking trail near Crawley Pond; close by you come across the Messer Trail which is a magnificent hiking trail.
On a glorious day at Crawley Pond you can take a hike along the Stone Mountain Trail, and while you're here why not stop by Goose Hollow. If you need a location to stay Mountain Crest Inn is a good choice, and Smoky MTN Country Club & Grill is a fine golf course close by.
