After a long day outdoors Comfort Inn West is a tremendous spot to spend a night or two, and Kinser Pond is a nice lake close by. While you're here at Craighead Lake you will meet lots of folks from close by Athens; whitewater paddling is great on Tellico River. Lakes are such calm places, why not check out Madisonville Lake near Craighead Lake; if the weather is magnificent, you can go for       a hike along the Starr Mountain Trail. Put some time aside to spend at Howard Spring if you're here at Craighead Lake. There's so much to do here at Craighead Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Tennessee Country Campground is a perfect place for that. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy this location. While you're here at Craighead Lake you can take a hike along the Iven Trail, and Econo Lodge Sweetwater is a splendid site to get some rest. Craighead                  Lake gets a great deal of water; March is when you get the most rain here, and October meanwhile is the driest month. This lake is so wonderful. Madisonville Golf Course is a magnificent golf course nearby; the Conasauga Falls Trail is a brilliant hiking trail nearby. Throughout the long summer days highs here at Craighead Lake get into the 80's, and during summer nights temperatures are in the 60's. For the period of the winter this place gets highs in the 40's, and after the sun is down throughout the wintertime temperatures at Craighead Lake dip into the 20's. This lake is so wonderful.
