You'll truly wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the entertaining stuff in the Cumberland Plateau Mountains. On a gorgeous day you get a sight of Smith Knob from Cooper Pond, and if you need a location to stay Best Western South Fork Inn is a good choice. Whitewater paddling is fine on Pine Creek, and why not stop at Newport Dam since you're here. All the water falling down from the sky makes Cooper Pond a wet       spot; March is when you get the most rain here, and October on the other hand is the driest. Hiking along the Hidden Passage Trail is splendid fun; enjoy a round of golf at Oneida Golf & Country Club. The warmest time of the year brings highs in the 80's to Cooper Pond, and the overnight is fairly chillier of course, regularly in the 60's. High temperatures throughout the wintertime are normally in the 40's, and overnight lows during the winter for Cooper                  Pond tend to be in the 20's.
