River Bluff Trail
 | 13 miles away 1 PHOTO Tuesday, March 31, 2009. River Bluff Trail, Norris Dam State Park, TN.
People who've hiked the trail along the Clinch River just downstream of Norris Dam could tell you about how good this place is for spring wildflowers. 3. 2 miles of trail with a nice blend of flat easy walking along the river coupled with a bit of climbing and a ridgeline hike back to the car makes for a good workout--but one you'll hardly notice due to the grand views of flowers and scenery.
Don't give up when you first start this trail because you'll see only a few flowers along the first 1/2 mile. Beyond that, you'll think you've entered some kind of wildflower garden. Honest--the displays are that good.
Visit my non-commercial hiking journal website for more info and links to wildflower photos:

Windrock Campground
 | 18 miles away 1 PHOTO Bunkhouse... Phone (865) 435-3939 Reservations taken by phone only Website: www. Windrockcampground.com... If you're into 4-wheeling, be it quads, dirtbikes, or jeeps - this is THE PLACE to be! There are hundreds of miles of trails from easy to extreme, I hear it is like 72,000 acres big. We stayed at this campground and it was great! CLEAN, close enough to the trails to ride without hauling your bike on a trailer, and the people there are great. The Hoskins Brothers who run this place are the best!... |
