Many people like to go to Browns Lake. If you adore the outdoors, you'll go for Browns Lake. Raccoon Mountain Campground is a nice campground here; after a long day outdoors Covenant Motel is a wonderful place to spend a night or two. This lake is so wonderful. If you come at the right time of year, Mullens Creek offers some good whitewater; you're sure to encounter some cheerful folks from Chattanooga here. All through the warm days of summer, highs frequently are in the 80's at Browns Lake with night lows in the 60's. Throughout the wintertime highs are generally in the 40's, and nighttime lows through the winter for Browns Lake tend to be in the 20's. A glorious place | |

to take a look at right next door to Browns Lake is Brown Gulf; Browns Lake is a brilliant site to camp, Racoon Mountain Campground is a brilliant site.
Ellis Spring is an inspiring place to visit while you're here; the panoramas
at Russell Cave National Monument will blow your mind. A good deal of rainfall falls at Browns Lake; through March this area sees the most rain, and June is when it's the driest. The vista of Hicks Mountain from Browns Lake is scenic;
if the weather is great, you can go for a hike along the Lookout Creek Trail.
There are some good whitewater spots on Cole City Creek; the Bluff Trail is a good hiking trail close by.
