Throughout the summer at Browns Lake temperatures are commonly in the 80's. Once the sun is down it sinks down to the 60's. For the period of the winter highs are in the 40's; winter nights come with lows in the 20's to Browns Lake. The high level of precipitation makes Browns Lake a quite wet location; most of the rain       falls throughout March, and the driest month is June. This lake is so wonderful. Country Inn & Suites By Carlson Chattanooga I-24 West is a delightful spot to get some rest, and camping at Racoon Mountain Campground is always a perfect experience. On a glorious day at Browns Lake you can take a hike along the Bluff Trail; Cummings Lake is a fine lake close by. All the outdoors fun things near Browns Lake will keep you coming back many times. If you came to camp                  Raccoon Mountain Campground is a great place to do that. This lake is so wonderful. Whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then we recommend Mullens Creek; a visit to Russell Cave National Monument is recommended. Whohoo, so much fun stuff in one place! Browns Lake is great! Get your heart pumping on the nice whitewater of Cole City Creek, and the peak of Hicks Mountain can be seen from Browns Lake. Going for a hike along the Skyuka Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this area, and at Browns Lake you always meet someone from Chattanooga.
