In case you don’t mind getting soaked, you can always go whitewater paddling on Doe River; you can go for a hike on the Holston Mountain Trail. This lake is so wonderful. There are good sites to discover along the Short Spur Trail, and camping at Low Gap Campground 1 is always a wonderful experience. It's always great to have a look at Blue Spring, and Bishop Hollow is another great place to check       out nearby. The yearly rainfall here at Boyd Spring Pond is about average; most of the rain falls through July, and October is when it's the driest. At Boyd Spring Pond during the summer months highs are in the 80's, and during summer nights temperatures are in the 60's. During the wintertime this place gets highs in the 40's, and through the dark hours in the winter at Boyd Spring Pond temperatures fall to the 20's. You'll wish for more hours in a day to enjoy                  all the entertaining things at Boyd Spring Pond.
