A quick journey to Jeffers Creek close to Big Lake is a great idea, and Hatchie Bottom is a splendid site to check out. Throughout the summer months at Big Lake temperatures are commonly in the 90's, and the overnight is slightly chillier of course, generally in the 60's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 40's; night lows in the 20's for Big Lake. After a long day outdoors       Best Western Travellers Inn is a perfect location to spend a night or two, and you're sure to run into some good folks from Brownsville here. This lake is so wonderful. Big Lake is a good place to camp, Joy-o RV Park is a good place, and Horseshoe Cutoff is a nearby lake that you could visit. That right there is lots already, but it continues; Big Lake has it all. A fine nearby hotel is Americas Best Value Inn; don't leave Big Lake without first paying                  a visit to The Big Eddy. The scenery at Big Lake Dam near Big Lake is lovely. You'll need more than a day to discover everything Big Lake has to offer, you can camp at Joyners Campground.
