Stay the night at Joyners Campground, and Big Lake is a site with many visitors from Brownsville. The scenery at Big Lake Dam close to Big Lake is wonderful; places like Hatchie Bottom are great to pop by. At Big Lake through the warm months highs are in the 90's, and all through summer nights temperatures are in the 60's. So much entertaining stuff to do at Big Lake, so little time. It's a great idea to check out Jeffers Creek, it's close to Big Lake. Lakes are pleasant; Horseshoe Lake is a lake that's in the vicinity of Big Lake.
