All year is a pleasant time in the Cumberland Plateau Mountains if you love the outdoors. A nice spot to camp here at Akers Lake is Deep Valley Park, and Akers Lake Dam is not far at all from Akers Lake. Akers Lake gets a good deal of water; most of the rain falls through March, and the driest month is October. High temperatures at Akers Lake throughout the warm months are in the 80's. There is a large Deep Valley sign which you are welcome to stop & admire. Turn left on Allons-Oakley Rd. Proceed 1 1/4 mile. Turn right at the two very old barns. This is Hunter Cove.
