     All year is a pleasant time in the Cumberland Plateau Mountains if you love the outdoors. A nice spot to camp here at Akers Lake is Deep Valley Park, and Akers Lake Dam is not far at all from Akers Lake. Akers Lake gets a good deal of water; most of the rain falls through March, and the driest month is October. High temperatures at Akers Lake throughout the warm months are in the 80's. Summer overnight lows plunge down to the 60's. During the wintertime highs  
   are generally in the 40's, and nighttime lows at Akers Lake through the winter usually dip into the 20's.
Life's too short to enjoy all the fun things in the Cumberland Plateau Mountains. Lakes? Sure, Dale Hollow Lake is in the neighborhood; you can run the rapids of Obey River - East Fork. This lake is located in the wonderful Cumberland Plateau Mountains.
This lake is so wonderful. Duvall Pond is a great lake close to Akers Lake, and a pleasant close
 
               by hotel is Best Western Albany Garden Inn. Whohoo, so many fun things in one place! Akers Lake rocks! Here at Akers Lake you'll perhaps meet some folks from Cookevi lle, and a fine site for whitewater paddling is Obey River - West Fork. Camping is available at Deep Valley Recreational Vehicle Park, and why not visit close by Huffakre Fork while you're here at Akers Lake.

Rt 111 South 18 miles. Turn right on RT 294 . Follow this road for 6 miles. to the first gas station- theTriple D. There is a large Deep Valley sign which you are welcome to stop & admire. Turn left on Allons-Oakley Rd. Proceed 1 1/4 mile. Turn right at the two very old barns. This is Hunter Cove. Campground is 1 mile on the right. (See note below)
