This lake is located in the wonderful Black Hills. Ward Reservoir gets very little rain; the month with most of the rain is July while January is the month with the least amount of precipitation. High temperatures at Ward Reservoir through the long summer days are in the 80's. For the period of the moonlight hours it's generally in the 50's. Throughout the winter the highs are regularly in the 30's; overnight lows at Ward Reservoir throughout the winter generally

Legion Lake Lodge VA is a wonderful site to get some rest, and there is a delightful hiking trail nearby called the Lost Cabin Trail. Camping at Echo Valley Park is always a wonderful experience, and a lake close by is Ventling Reservoir. This lake is so wonderful. a tremendous adventure. If you have a thing about the outdoors you'll have a thing about it here in the Black Hills. A trip to Jewel Cave National Monument is recommended, of course you could also check out Lake of the Pines while
you're here; it's not far at all. This site, the Black Hills, has so much outdoors amusing stuff. Ward Reservoir is magnificent enough to spend more than a day at, Custer's Gulch RV Park and Campground is a magnificent local campground.
On a pleasant day at Ward Reservoir you can take a hike along the Sunday Gulch Trail, and a good nearby hotel is State Game Lodge VA.

Again, in a tent, you hear it all. Didn't realize the alternate bathhouse was the one with all the remodel until our last day-very nice!!!!!... |
