If you come at the right time of year, Spearfish Creek offers some brilliant whitewater; after a long day outdoors SUPER 8 MOTEL - BELLE FOURCHE is a brilliant spot to spend a night or two. Not much precipitation falls here       at Slaughter Reservoir; June is when you get the most rain here, and January on the other hand is the driest. Just can't get enough of Slaughter Reservoir. Stay the night at Wyatt's Hideaway Campground, and if you need a place to stay AmericInn Belle Fourche is a glorious choice. This lake is so wonderful. You'll need more than a day to discover everything Slaughter Reservoir has to offer, you can camp at The Playground Campground; Slaughter Reservoir is right                  by the Bear Gulch Trail. Why not take a refreshing hike along the Beaver Ridge Trail, and the best way to spend a winter day is on the slopes of nearby Terry Peak. Through the long summer days highs here at Slaughter Reservoir reach the 80's, and during the night it cools down to the 50's.
