Lakes are great; Havens Reservoir is a lake that's in the vicinity of Slaughter Reservoir; why not take a refreshing hike along the Beaver Ridge Trail. AmericInn Belle Fourche is a good place to get some rest. There's so much to do here at Slaughter Reservoir that you       need to camp here for a while, The Playground Campground is a tremendous place for that. High temperatures at Slaughter Reservoir through the warm months are in the 80's. Once the sun is down it drops down to the 50's. For the duration of the winter highs are in the 30's, and winter nights come with lows in the 10's to Slaughter Reservoir. Hiking along the Big Hill Ski Trail is tremendous fun. At Slaughter Reservoir you don’t see much precipitation; June is                  the wettest month with most rain, and January meanwhile is the driest month. This lake is so wonderful.
