A perfect close by hotel is Spearfish-Days Inn; Murray Lake is splendid enough to spend more than a day at, Spearfish Koa Kampground is a splendid local campground. If you came to camp Iron Creek Lake is a great spot to do that, and the Bear Gulch Trail offers hiking at its best. It is very dehydrated here at Murray Lake mostly; the wettest month of the year is generally June, that's the one       that rains the most, and the driest month of the year is January. All the outdoors entertaining stuff near Murray Lake will keep you coming back over and over. If you need a place to stay Spearfish Travelodge is a great choice; whitewater paddling is fine on Spearfish Creek. There's magnificent hiking along the Beaver Ridge Trail, and swing by Crow Creek it's a nice spot to pop by. This lake is so wonderful. You'll never forgive yourself if you don’t go skiing                  at Terry Peak while you're here; why not take a refreshing hike along the Big Hill Ski Trail. Through the days of summer at Murray Lake highs are typically in the 80's. Summer night lows drop down to the 50's.
