Just can't get enough of the Black Hills. Hit the slopes at Terry Peak nearby, and the Pettigrew Trail is a wonderful hiking trail nearby. This lake is so wonderful. Lots of people from Spearfish come to Mud Lake, and if the weather is magnificent, you can go for a hike along the Iron Creek Trail. For the duration of the months of summer at Mud Lake highs are mostly in the 80's. Summer night lows       drop down to the 50's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 30's with winter lows in the 0's overnight here at Mud Lake. This lake is located in the wonderful Black Hills. Stay the night at Black Fox Campground, and while you're here you can take a hike along the Rim Rock Trail. Bee Draw is in the neighborhood of Mud Lake and is beyond doubt a great place to stop by; do put some time aside to spend at Mix Spring if you're here at Mud Lake.                  Mud Lake is pretty dried out typically; the month with most of the rain is June, and the driest of the months is January. That right there is lots already, but it continues; Mud Lake has it all. You'll need more than a day to discover everything Mud Lake has to offer, you can camp at White Tail Peak Campground, and if you need a place to stay Deadwood Super 8 Motel is a great choice. This lake is so wonderful. And if that's not enough there's loads more enjoyable stuff to do in the Black Hills.
