Terry Peak is a great local ski area; dry warm beds await you at Spearfish-Days Inn. Don't leave Mud Lake without first going for a hike along the Bear Gulch Trail, and during your trip here you'll meet some folks from Spearfish for sure. Summer at Mud Lake arrives with high temperatures in the 80's. For the period of the moonlight hours it's frequently in the 50's. Throughout the winter highs are generally in the 30's, and       after the sun is down throughout the wintertime temperatures at Mud Lake sink into the 10's. There are other sites here than Mud Lake, for example Cox Lake, and if you need a place to stay Spearfish Travelodge is a tremendous choice. Mud Lake gets very little rain; the month with most of the rain is June, and the driest of the months is January. This lake is so wonderful. If you go for the outdoors, you'll fancy Mud Lake. There's whitewater on Spearfish                  Creek for all you thrill seekers, and fine hiking is available along the Big Hill Ski Trail. Camping at Mud Lake is perfect fun, Spearfish City Campground is a perfect local campground, and there's some flowing water close by, Crow Creek is a stream you can take a look at while you're here. This lake is so wonderful.
