Not far from Mitchell Lake you acquire some good water scenery at Mitchell Lake Dam, and China Gulch is close by, and is a glorious spot. Best Western Golden Spike Inn & Suites is a great place to get some rest; the Sylvan Lake Harney Trail is a tremendous hiking trail nearby. High temperatures at Mitchell Lake throughout the summer are in the 80's, and through summer nights       temperatures are in the 50's. Daytime highs through the winter are in the 30's, and through the dark hours in the wintertime at Mitchell Lake temperatures dip to the 10's. This lake is so wonderful. If you need a spot to stay The Lodge at Palmer Gulch is a wonderful choice, and the view of picturesque Bishop Mountain is splendid. That right there is loads already, but it keeps on going; Mitchell Lake has it all. Camping at Mitchell Lake is wonderful fun,                  Three Forks Campground is a wonderful local campground; there is a great hiking trail nearby called the Lost Cabin Trail. These mountains rock, just check out all the fun things to do in the Black Hills. The views at Jewel Cave National Monument will blow your mind. This lake is one of the great places here in the Black Hills. If you want a glorious time in the great outdoors just come on up to the Black Hills. Why not camp at Crooked Creek Resort if you're here at Mitchell Lake, and if the weather is great, you can go for a hike along the Willow Creek Trail.
