This lake is one of the great places here in the Black Hills. Man, is there lots of amusing stuff to do in the Black Hills. If you need a place to stay Best Western Golden Spike Inn & Suites is a great choice, and the Willow Creek Trail offers hiking at its best. High temperatures at Mitchell Lake through the warm days of summer are in the 80's. Throughout the dark hours of summer temperatures sink down into the 50's.       The wintertime brings highs down to the 30's; night lows in the 10's for Mitchell Lake. This lake is so wonderful. At Mitchell Lake Dam near Mitchell Lake there are some exciting things to see, and one of the governing traits of the surroundings of Mitchell Lake is Bishop Mountain. Dry warm beds await you at The Lodge at Palmer Gulch, and as expected, all our national parks are good locations to check out and Jewel Cave National Monument is no exception.                  This lake is so wonderful. So many amusing things to do here in the Black Hills, too magnificent to be true. Looking for something near Mitchell Lake? Horse Thief Lake is close at hand. You'll need more than a day to discover everything Mitchell Lake has to offer, you can camp at Three Forks Campground. From a precipitation point of view Mitchell Lake is a reasonably common location; the wettest month of the year is typically May, that's the one that rains the most, and January is the month with the least moisture. Man, is there lots of cool things to do close to Mitchell Lake. Mitchell Lake is a fine place to visit for more than one day, Crooked Creek Resort is a fine place to camp nearby, and do take a hike on the Lost Cabin Trail.
