Summertime highs at Major Lake mostly tend to be in the 80's. Throughout the moonlight hours it's generally in the 50's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 30's, and nighttime lows in the 10's for Major Lake. So much fun stuff to do here at Major Lake, too splendid to be true. Major Lake is next to Allen Gulch which is unquestionably worth checking out, and going for a hike on the Willow Creek Trail is always a good       adventure. This lake is so wonderful. If you need a site to stay Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Hill City, Sd is a magnificent choice. That right there is lots of cool stuff already but it goes on, the Black Hills has it all. It's a fine idea to have a look at Newton Fork, it's in close proximity to Major Lake, and do go to Sylvan Lake, it's a pretty lake. Major Lake is great enough to spend more than a day at, Black Hill Camp and Breakfast is a great                  local campground, and splendid hiking is available along the Sunday Gulch Trail. Be careful coming to the Black Hills, you might not ever want to go home again. If you haven’t been to Jewel Cave National Monument, you should schedule some time for it if you're here, and camping at Mount Rushmore KOA is always a splendid experience. This lake is located in the wonderful Black Hills. Major Lake gets a typical amount of annual rain; May is when you get the most rain here, and the driest month of the year is January. Go for a hike on the Lost Cabin Trail; you'll hit upon a stunning lake called Mitchell Lake. This lake is so wonderful.
