Major Lake is always a pleasure to visit. Yep, outdoors cool stuff truly is abundant here in the Black Hills. If you haven’t been to Jewel Cave National Monument, you must schedule some time for it while you're here. Summer at Major Lake comes with high temperatures in the 80's, and throughout the night it cools down to the 50's. High temperatures throughout the winter are normally in the 30's with winter lows in the 10's overnight here at Major Lake. Newton

| | Fork flows through this vicinity, and why not take a refreshing hike along the Willow Creek Trail.
Hiking along the Sunday Gulch Trail is tremendous fun; if you need a place to stay Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Hill City, Sd is a good choice. A typical amount of rainfall falls here at Major Lake; the wettest month of the year is generally May, that's the one that rains the most, and January is the month with the least moisture. there's a heap more to do in close proximity to Major Lake. If you came to camp Crooked Creek Resort is a good spot to do that, and the summit of Bishop Mountain can be seen from Major Lake.
Major Lake is located in the Black
Hills. This lake is so wonderful. Take a hike on the Lost Cabin Trail; after a long day outdoors Best Western Golden Spike Inn & Suites is a great spot to spend a night or two. There's no way somebody can get bored here in the Black
Hills. Near Major Lake you come across Allen Gulch which is a tremendous location to explore; camping at Hill City Koa Kampground is always a great experience.
