Major Lake is a nice lake to visit. Summertime highs at Major Lake mostly tend to be in the 80's. Throughout the moonlight hours it's generally in the 50's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 30's, and nighttime lows in the 10's for Major Lake. So much fun stuff to do here at Major Lake, too splendid to be true. Major Lake is next to Allen Gulch which is unquestionably worth checking out, and going for a hike on the Willow Creek Trail is always a good

| | adventure. This lake is so wonderful. If you need a site to stay Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Hill City, Sd is a magnificent choice. That right there is lots of cool stuff already but it goes on, the Black Hills has it all. It's a fine idea to have a look at Newton Fork, it's in close proximity to Major Lake, and do go to Sylvan Lake, it's a pretty lake. local campground, and splendid hiking is available along the Sunday Gulch Trail. Be careful coming to the Black Hills, you might not ever want to go home again. If you haven’t been to Jewel Cave National Monument, you should schedule
some time for it if you're here, and camping at Mount Rushmore KOA is always a splendid experience. This lake is located in the wonderful Black Hills. Major Lake gets a typical amount of annual rain; May is when you get the most
rain here, and the driest month of the year is January. Go for a hike on the Lost Cabin Trail; you'll hit upon a stunning lake called Mitchell Lake. This lake is so wonderful. On a pretty day you get a sight of Bishop Mountain from Major Lake, and dry warm beds await you at Best Western Golden Spike Inn & Suites.

 | 10 miles away Nice facility. Friendly, helpful staff. We just returned from 3 nights of tent-camping there. Only complaint- 16 hwy was a bit more active at night than we would hope. Again, in a tent, you hear it all. Didn't realize the alternate bathhouse was the one with all the remodel until our last day-very nice!!!!!... |

 | 15 miles away I can only speak about Deerfield lake and it is beautiful. The fishing is also good. Have caught my limit of trout on every visit. It's not crowded at all. A very nice place to get some peace and quiet.... |

 | 19 miles away Been here more than I can count. The kids always love feeding the fish (trout ponds). The food is delicious. For a really good time, fish for your dinner. It's guaranteed fresh(you caught it) & they cook it up for you or pack it to go. A really nice campground with nice people running it. Very Clean....Excellent Campsite! Highly recommended and they even have onsite breakfast, lunch and dinner available on a cabin like cafe sitting on their own little pond. Very quiet and peaceful setting even during the Rally (as quiet as you can expect :)) ... |
