     South Dakota has many beautiful lakes and Legion Lake is one of them. Legion Lake is generally a rather dehydrated site; June is the month that gets the most rain, and January is the month with the least moisture. This lake is so wonderful. Legion Lake truly is in the middle of a scenic outdoors paradise. Legion Lake is splendid enough to spend more than a day at, West French Creek Primitive Campground is a splendid local campground; there are other sites  
   here than Legion Lake, for example Stockdale Lake.
Yeah, come up here to the Black Hills for a great time. The Norbeck Trail is a great hiking trail next to Legion Lake, and a pleasant place to camp here at Legion Lake is Horse Campground. There is a perfect hiking trail near Legion Lake called the Iron Mountain Trail, and obviously, all our national parks are good locations to stop at and Jewel Cave National Monument is no exception.                Mount Coolidge near Legion Lake is nice, and not far from Legion Lake you'll find Stockade Lake which is a scenic lake.
This lake is so wonderful. Sheep Draw is close to Legion Lake and is undeniably a brilliant place to stop by, and a perfect nearby hotel is Blue Bell Lodge. The Black Hills scenery is always beautiful. During the days of summer at Legion Lake highs are typically in the 80's; all through summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. Highs during the wintertime are regularly in the 30's with winter lows in the 0's overnight here at Legion Lake.
All the outdoors fun things in the Black Hills will keep you coming back over and over. Near Legion Lake you find the Grizzly Creek Trail which is a perfect hiking trail, and after a long day outdoors Sylvan Lake Lodge VA is a great place to spend a night or two.

Nice facility. Friendly, helpful staff. We just returned from 3 nights of tent-camping there. Only complaint- 16 hwy was a bit more active at night than we would hope. Again, in a tent, you hear it all.  Didn't realize the alternate bathhouse was the one with all the remodel until our last day-very nice!!!!!...
