Get yourself into a kayak and hit Big Sioux River, and why not take a little trip to Ninemile Creek since you're here. This lake is so wonderful. Pipestone National Monument is a wonderful location close to Lake Alvin, and dry warm beds await you at Gateway Motel. It is very dehydrated here at Lake Alvin ordinarily; during June this area sees the most rain; the driest month is January.       Why not spend some time golfing at a nearby golf course like Spring Creek Country Club, and you can stay the night at Sioux Falls Yogi Bear Resort.
