This is a popular location for folks from Spearfish. There's no way somebody can get bored here in the Black Hills. Iron Creek Lake is right by the Rim Rock Trail; Iron Creek Lake is magnificent enough to spend more than a day at, Timon Campground is a magnificent local campground. So many entertaining things to do in the Black Hills, not sufficient time. What would winter       be without some skiing at Terry Peak; Holiday Inn SPEARFISH-CONVENTION CENTER is a nice site to get some rest. For the duration of the months of summer at Iron Creek Lake temperatures are usually in the 80's. For the period of the moonlight hours it's generally in the 50's. Through the winter highs are generally in the 30's, and overnight lows at Iron Creek Lake throughout the wintertime mostly drop into the 10's. The Black Hills scenery is always beautiful.                  This lake is so wonderful. If you yearn for a little side trip, try Pettigrew Gulch, and hiking along the Pettigrew Trail is brilliant fun. Spearfish Creek has a great whitewater paddling spot close by, and needless to say Deer Creek flows through this vicinity. The beauty of mother nature reveals herself at Jay Spring. There's so much to do here at Iron Creek Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Rod and Gun Campground is a great place for that. Man, is there heaps of amusing things to do in close proximity to Iron Creek Lake. Take a hike on the Iron Creek Trail, and you're possibly addicted to lakes, Red Lake is one of those close by. Around Iron Creek Lake you don’t get a lot of precipitation; most of the rain falls during June while January is generally the driest month. This is a nice vicinity for people who like lakes. Dry Lake is a lake around here; if you need a place to stay Travelodge Spearfish is a delightful choice. This lake is so wonderful.
