This lake is located in the wonderful Black Hills. Throughout the summer at Horse Thief Lake highs are frequently in the 70's. Through the dark hours of summer temperatures drop down into the 40's. High temperatures during the wintertime are normally in the 30's, and during the dark hours in the wintertime at Horse Thief Lake temperatures descend to the 0's. Just can't get enough of       the Black Hills. Near Horse Thief Lake you discover the Horse Thief Lake Trail which is a good hiking trail, and stopping by Mount Rushmore National Memorial is just something you need to do if you haven't yet. Grizzly Bear Falls is an inspiring spot to go to while you're here, and a good location to camp here at Horse Thief Lake is Kemp's Kamp. Not much precipitation falls here at Horse Thief Lake; the wettest month of the year is regularly June, that's the                  one that rains the most, and the driest month is January. And if that's not enough there's a heap more fun stuff to do in the Black Hills. Getting to Pine Creek from Horse Thief Lake is trouble-free, and at Horse Thief Lake you can spot Hardesty Peak. This lake is so wonderful. Not far from Horse Thief Lake, you'll find Mitchell Lake which is a picturesque lake, and going for a hike on the Willow Creek - Rushmore Trail is always a magnificent adventure. This lake is so wonderful. Why not camp at Miner's Motel and RV Park while you're here at Horse Thief Lake, and there are tremendous locations to look at along the Blackberry Trail. Horse Thief Lake Dam is pretty and it's close to Horse Thief Lake, and dry warm beds await you at Best Western Four Presidents Lodge.
