All through the winter highs are in the 30's; winter nights come with lows in the 0's to Crooks Lake. If only every spot had this much outdoors entertaining stuff, what a great world it would be. Head up to Terry Peak and strap some skis to your feet, and close by you come across the Pettigrew Trail which is a glorious hiking       trail. Crooks Lake is a beautiful lake in the Black Hills. Nearby lakes? Sure, Clayton Pond is next to Crooks Lake, and at Crooks Lake you always meet someone from Spearfish. Now, you may think that's heaps but there's even more enjoyable things to do here in the Black Hills. After a long day outdoors Black Hills Inn & Suites is a great place to spend a night or two, and you're probably into lakes, Mud Lake is one of those close by. At Crooks Lake you don’t                  see much rainfall; through June this area sees the most rain, and the driest month is January. Whohoo, so many exciting things in one place! The Black Hills is great! The peak of Crooks Tower can be seen from Crooks Lake; Crooks Lake is good enough to spend more than a day at, Hanna Campground is a good local campground. This lake is so wonderful. If you need a location to stay Caledonia Condos is a great choice; there is a good hiking trail nearby called the Iron Creek Trail. This lake is so wonderful. There's whitewater on Spearfish Creek for all you thrill seekers.
