High temperatures at Crooks Lake through the summer are in the 80's; the nighttime is fairly chillier of course, frequently in the 50's. All through the winter highs are in the 30's; winter nights come with lows in the 0's to Crooks Lake. If only every spot had this much outdoors entertaining stuff, what a great world it would be. Head up to Terry Peak and strap some skis to your feet, and close by you come across the Pettigrew Trail which is a glorious hiking

| | trail. Crooks Lake is a beautiful lake in the Black Hills. Nearby lakes? Sure, Clayton Pond is next to Crooks Lake, and at Crooks Lake you always meet someone from Spearfish. Now, you may think that's heaps but there's even more enjoyable things to do here in the Black Hills. see much rainfall; through June this area sees the most rain, and the driest month is January. Whohoo, so many exciting things in one place! The Black Hills is great! The peak of Crooks Tower can be seen from Crooks Lake; Crooks
Lake is good enough to spend more than a day at, Hanna Campground is a good local campground. This lake is so wonderful. If you need a location to stay Caledonia Condos is a great choice; there is a good hiking trail nearby called
the Iron Creek Trail. This lake is so wonderful. There's whitewater on Spearfish Creek for all you thrill seekers. If you came to camp Black Fox Campground is a good spot to do that, and on a delightful day you can take a hike along the Rim Rock Trail.

 | 16 miles away Been here more than I can count. The kids always love feeding the fish (trout ponds). The food is delicious. For a really good time, fish for your dinner. It's guaranteed fresh(you caught it) & they cook it up for you or pack it to go. A really nice campground with nice people running it. Very Clean....Excellent Campsite! Highly recommended and they even have onsite breakfast, lunch and dinner available on a cabin like cafe sitting on their own little pond. Very quiet and peaceful setting even during the Rally (as quiet as you can expect :)) ... |
