    If you are in Aiken county it's always a good idea to stop by Willow Wicks Lake. Much precipitation falls at Willow Wicks Lake; the month with most of the rain is March while November is the month with the least amount of precipitation. This lake is so wonderful. A wonderful lake like Gregorys Lake near Willow Wicks Lake is a tremendous spot to visit, and whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then, we recommend Stevens Creek. You'll discover  
   a gorgeous lake called Lake Olmstead near Willow Wicks Lake, and Rock Creek is near Willow Wicks Lake and is always a bliss to stop at.
You'll meet a lot of folks from Augusta-Richmond County here; enjoy a round of golf at Augusta Golf Course. At Willow Wicks Lake through the months of summer highs are in the 90's. For the period of the dark hours of summer temperatures sink down into the 60's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 50's with temperatures at
 
               Willow Wicks Lake dipping down into the 30's all through winter nights. There are some great whitewater spots on Savannah River, and Country Inn & Suites By Carlson, Augusta at I-20, GA is a nice spot to get some rest.
From Willow Wicks Lake you acquire a delightful vista of Poverty Hill, and camping at Flynn's Inn Camping Village is always a perfect experience. This lake is so wonderful. A great place to camp here at Willow Wicks Lake is Betty's RV and Trailer Court, and nearby you stumble on the Turkey Creek Hiking Trail which is a good hiking trail.
If you want a perfect time in the great outdoors, just come on down to Willow Wicks Lake. After a long day outdoors Lookaway and Rosemary Halls is a good spot to spend a night or two, and there is a great hiking trail close by called the Horn Creek Hiking Trail.

Savannah River
There are two open spillway dams between the Hwy 28 (Fury's Ferry) Bridge and I-20: Stevens Creek Dam (at the confluence of Stevens Creek) and the Augusta Canal Diversion Dam (about a mile downstream of Stevens Creek Dam). There are no marked access points immediately on either side of either dam. Georgia Power Co. operates an electric generating facility on the Georgia (south) bank at Stevens Creek. At the Canal, since the canal immediately parallels the river some twenty feet above it, there is no river access whatsoever on the Georgia side. Portage would be recommended along private land on the South Carolina side of both dams....
