If you came for an overnight stay Croft state Natural Area is a perfect spot to camp, and a quick visit to Beaverdam Creek is beyond doubt a fine idea. Camping is available at Rose Hill Plantation state Historic Site; a nice nearby hotel is Best Value Inn And Suites- Union. This lake is so wonderful. Get yourself into a kayak and hit Pacolet, and since you're here you will meet lots of people from close by Union.       Not enough hours in a day to enjoy this place. Get covered with water paddling on Lawsons Fork Creek. After a long day outdoors Homestead Lodge Gaffney is a glorious location to spend a night or two, and since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always visit nearby White Pines Lake. Summer at White Pines Lake arrives with high temperatures in the 80's with overnight lows in the 60's.
