Lake Trotwood Dam is not far at all from Ulmers Lake, and if you need a location to stay Days Inn and Suites Columbia is a great choice. All the water falling down from the sky makes Ulmers Lake a wet site; most of the rain falls through March, and the driest month of the       year is November. Ulmers Lake is a delightful site to visit for more than one day, Capital City Campground is a delightful site to camp nearby; since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always explore close by Ulmers Pond. While you're here at Ulmers Lake you can play some golf at Sedgewood Country Club, and of course, all our national parks are great places to stop at and Congaree Swamp National Monument is no exception. This lake is so wonderful.                  Sesquicentennial State Park is a good local campground. Lakes? Sure, Captain Jims Pond is close at hand. This lake is so wonderful. Throughout the days of summer here at Ulmers Lake, high temperatures regularly reach the 90's while overnight lows are typically in the 60's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 50's with temperatures at Ulmers Lake dipping down into the 20's all through winter nights.
