Camping is available at Foothills Family Campground; if you come at the right time of year, Island Creek offers some glorious whitewater. All through the summer months at Thicketty Mountain Lake temperatures are commonly in the 80's. Once the sun is down it descends down to the 60's. This lake is so wonderful. Long Branch of Island Creek is in close proximity to Thicketty Mountain Lake and is always a diversion to stop by, and whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then, we recommend Broad River.
