Get drenched paddling on Chattooga River - East Fork, and if you need a place to stay Park Ave Guest House is a splendid choice. Sumter National Forest Lake is a quite wet place frequently with a good deal of rain; March is the month that gets the most rain while April is frequently the driest month. Good hiking is available along the Winding Stairs Trail, and some nearby       water includes Bee Creek. During the long summer days highs here at Sumter National Forest Lake reach the 70's. Summer overnight lows sink down to the 50's. All through the winter the highs are frequently in the 40's, and during the dark hours in the winter at Sumter National Forest Lake temperatures dip to the 20's. This lake is so wonderful. The snow is great at Scaly Mountain. Don't leave Sumter National Forest Lake without first paying a visit to Moody                  Spring; a lake nearby is Lake Isaquenna.
