If you like lakes and you're in this part of South Carolina you can check out Summey Pond. East Fork Crow Creek is a nice local stream, and dry warm beds await you at Ramada Inn Clemson. Going for a hike on the Winding Stairs Trail is always a magnificent adventure, and after a long day outdoors Sleep Inn Clemson is a great place to spend a night or two. Do check out Country Club Lake in the vicinity of Summey Pond, it's a picturesque lake; if you don't mind getting drenched, you can always go whitewater paddling on Eastatoe Creek - Lower Gorge. Summey Pond in fact is in the middle of a picturesque outdoors paradise. Near Summey Pond you hit upon the Foothills Trail which is a good hiking trail. Keowee-Toxaway state Natural Area is a nice site for that. This lake is so wonderful. The summit of Buzzard Roost Mountain can be seen from Summey Pond; Little Eastatoe River is a magnificent whitewater spot nearby.
Lots of people
from Brevard come to Summey Pond, and Summey Pond is nice enough to spend more than a day at, Devils Fork State Park is a nice local campground. This lake is so wonderful. During the warm days of summer at Summey Pond highs are frequently
in the 70's. When the night sets in temperatures sink down into the 50's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 40's while Summey Pond night low temperatures during the winter are in the 20's.
