Lake Fairfield is a nearby lake that you could stop at, and if you need a place to stay Savannah Suites Greenville is a fine choice. This lake is so wonderful. Piney Mountain is trouble-free to spot from Stone Lake, and a magnificent nearby hotel is Pettigru Place. Get yourself into a kayak and hit Reedy River, and do take a look at Richland Creek while you're       here at Stone Lake. Paris Mountain State Park is a fine local campground, and during your trip here you'll meet some folks from Greenville for sure. The warmest time of the year at Stone Lake arrives with high temperatures in the 70's, and through the night it cools down to the 60's. For the period of the winter highs are typically in the 40's, and overnight lows at Stone Lake through the wintertime regularly dip into the 20's. Now, you may feel that's                  a heap but there's even more exciting stuff to do here at Stone Lake. There are some tremendous whitewater spots on Saluda River, and in the neighborhood of Stone Lake you hit upon a golf course called Furman Golf Course.
