There's so much to do here at Smiths Pond that you need to camp here for a while, Woodland Park Campground is a great spot for that. At Smiths Pond during the summertime months highs are in the 80's. Once the sun is down it sinks down to the 60's. During the winter highs are usually in the 50's, and winter nights come with lows in the 20's to Smiths Pond. This lake is so wonderful. There       are other places here than Smiths Pond, for example Upper York Reservoir, and you can stay the night at Kings Mountain State Park. If you come at the right time of year, Catawba River - South Fork offers some fine whitewater. Not sufficient hours in a day to enjoy this place.
