So much fun stuff to do here at Smith Pond, too great to be true. On a fine day at Smith Pond you can take a hike along the Burrells Ford Trail, and lots of folks from Toccoa come here. Cedar Creek is a great whitewater spot near Smith Pond, and a glorious nearby hotel is Toccoa Days Inn. If the weather is beautiful, you obtain a fine panorama of Grassy Mountain from Smith Pond; you       can stay the night at Yellow Branch Campground. At Smith Pond through the warm days of summer highs are in the 80's. All through the moonlight hours it's commonly in the 60's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 50's; after the sun is down during the wintertime temperatures at Smith Pond fall into the 20's. This lake is so wonderful. After a long day outdoors Knights Inn Toccoa is a pleasant spot to spend a night or two; Smith Pond is                  not the only site nearby, Miller Pond is a nearby lake. Smith Pond is a good location to visit for more than one day, Cassidy Bridge Campground is a good location to camp nearby; a lake close by is Cox Pond. Gotta ski! Scaly Mountain is a nice site to do that. This lake is so wonderful. Visit Little Toxaway Creek while you're here at Smith Pond; going for a hike along the Chattooga Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this area. A great site for whitewater paddling near Smith Pond is Chauga River, and since you're here you can take a hike along the Bartram Trail.
