Paddling on Savannah River is so much fun, and you can have a wonderful hiking adventure along the Turkey Creek Hiking Trail. Life's too short to enjoy all the exciting stuff in the vicinity of Slade Lake. There are other places here than Slade Lake, for example Reynolds Pond; Forks Campground is a great       local campground. During your spree to Slade Lake you'll meet some people from Augusta-Richmond County for sure; dry warm beds await you at Sleep Inn North Augusta. Slade Lake is a rather wet place commonly with a great deal of rain; most of the rain falls all through March, and November meanwhile is the driest month. Not far from Slade Lake, you'll stumble on Odell Memorial Lake which is a pretty lake. Summer brings highs in the 90's to Slade Lake.                  Through the dark hours of summer temperatures plunge down into the 60's.
