for close by lakes? Sure, Berry Shoals Pond is just a very short distance away. Get wet paddling on Middle Tyger River, and Jameson Inns is a great place to get some rest.
Shoals Lake is not far at all from Spartanburg, and Powder Branch is near Shoals Lake and is always a joy to pop by.
