If time allows, Congaree Swamp National Monument is a national park worth checking out, and a great close by hotel is Country Hearth Inn Cayce. This lake is so wonderful. Camping at Wheat water Lake Campground is always a great experience, and this is a popular place for people from Columbia. If only every place had this much outdoors amusing things, what a great globe it would be. Camping is available       at Edmund RV Park. There are some great whitewater spots on Broad River; of course Cowpen Swamp is a picturesque stream that is worth a visit. For the period of the warm days of summer, highs usually are in the 90's at Shannon Pond. Summer nighttime lows drop down to the 70's. Through the winter highs are usually in the 50's, and overnight lows in the 30's for Shannon Pond. The high level of precipitation makes Shannon Pond a rather wet location; the month                  of July is the wettest with most of the rain, and October is when it's the driest.
