This lake is so wonderful. Why not camp at Elliott's Landing and Campground since you're here at Second Millpond; dry warm beds await you at Best Western Sumter Inn. At Second Millpond throughout the months of summer highs are in the 80's, and through the night it cools down to the 60's. Daytime highs during the wintertime are in the 50's with temperatures at Second Millpond dipping down into the 20's all through       winter nights. The high level of rain makes Second Millpond a reasonably wet place; July is when you get the most rain here; April on the other hand is the driest. There are other sites here than Second Millpond, for example Swan Lake, and if you need a place to stay Comfort Suites Sumter is a great choice. There's some interesting stuff to catch a glimpse of at Upper Deerwood Lake Dam near Second Millpond, and a great spot to camp here at Second Millpond                  is Poinsett state Park. Mush Swamp is near Second Millpond and is always a bliss to check out; Upper Deerwood Lake is a nice lake nearby. Be careful coming to Second Millpond, you might not ever wanna go home again.
